One of the Open Innovation initiatives promoted by IGPDecaux is coming tight: as Special Supporter we will take part to The Big (Smart) Hack 4.0, the hackathon promoted by Maker Faire Rome (1-2 December) that will take place on November 25th-26th in Rome at the Adriano Temple.
An Hackathon is a coding marathon where in just a few hours, some developers, hackers, makers and IoT experts gather together in teams guided by professional mentors. As outcome they create HW/SW prototypes by sharing ideas, creativity and increasing skills in an innovative and fun way.
IGPDecaux will challenge participants on this topic: Smart Sustainable Advertising.
"Out of Home advertising does not simply aim at promoting brands, but also at funding, partially or entirely, some services of public utility, for example our Street Furniture that are spread nationwide in thousands of units.
IGPDecaux wants to investigate new possible usages of Street Furniture which, by exploring further forms of interaction, could produce valuable services for cities and their citizens.
The challenge is open, use your creativity to explore additional kind of public services enabled by the huge IOT potential embedded in Street Furniture: Sensors, Big Data, Connectivity, Urban Lightening, AR, Analytics and other technological adds-on that could enable new usage experiences and turn simple Street Furniture into an interactive and sharable service."
If you are willing to undertake this challenge and take part to the Hackathon you will need to read the guidelines and register here. For practical info and prizes details, please check the official website.
