For the second consecutive year IGPDecaux is Media Partner of Seeds & Chips, the Global Food Innovation Summit that will take place in Rho Fiera Milano from the 6th to the 9th of May 2019.
Seeds & Chips is a Food Innovation international event focused on the issues of agriculture, food, health and life quality in relation to the territory and the Planet, which aims to transform the global food system for a more sustainable future, also thanks to the support of new technologies. During the four-days-event various moments of debate will be organized thanks to the participation of exceptional speakers.
Speeches, round tables, exhibitions, hackathons and pitches delivered by Start Ups – which are the typical tools and methods of work proper in an Open innovation approach- will involve the entrepreneurs, companies, institutions, universities, organizations and young participants from all over the world, united by the objectives of the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals. IGPDecaux, that focuses its attention on issues concerning the city and the quality of life in the urban environments, will bring to the audience two speeches centred on the themes of urbanisation and farming which are closely linked to each others.
The first speech, "Farming and the City", which is scheduled for the 6th of May at 2p.m., will deal with the relationship between the rural and the urban environment, the city and the countryside, with the aim of redesign the cities opening the urban space to new forms of use able to improve the citizens’ health and quality of life, as well as the environment itself.
The Milan’s city Councillor responsible for Urban Planning, Nature and Agriculture Pierfrancesco Maran, the architects Antonio Longo and Graziella Roccella, the agronomist and agro-ecologist Stefano Bocchi, and the biologist and ecologist Carlo Modenesi, will participate to the round table reflecting on the possibility to introduce new forms of multifunctional agriculture.
The round table will be moderated by Alessandro Loro, Head of Innovation and Communications of IGPDecaux. -
The second speech, "Seeding the Future of AgTech", will take place on the 7th of May at 3 p.m. thanks to the contribution of Jean-Sébastien Decaux, IGPDecaux President and JCDecaux CEO of Southern Europe, Africa, Belgium, Luxembourg and Israel and member of the Executive Board, who will deepen different topics related to the urban agriculture, such as the AgTech with its new solutions and applications both for the industries and the planet, developing innovative products and specific infrastructure to support them.
An Out of Home campaign, involving the Milanese trams and several underground urban structures will support as well the initiative.
